A Good Book : Coraline

A great thing about "Stumble" button on my tool bar is that so far I've stumbled upon many interesting stuffs only by a simple click; one of which is the book I'm to talk about: Coraline by Neil Gaiman.
I've never read anything quiet like it. Though it's a children's book, I must admit it sometimes scared me out of my wits while I was reading it. And it's not any ordinary fear, it's deep. Maybe this book proves that our childhood nightmares weren't only nightmares; they could be true.
I loved it. Not only it's dark and creepy but also is absolutley original.
The book was full of great quotes; I'll write some of them here:

-Coraline wondered why so few of the adults she had met made any sense. She sometimes wondered who they thought they were talking to.

-She flipped through a book her mother was reading about native people in a distant country; how every day they would take pieces of white silk and draw on them in wax, then dip the silks in dye, then draw on them more in wax and dye them some more, then boil the wax out in hot water, and then finally, throw the now-beautiful cloths on a fire and burn them to ashes.
It seemed particularly pointless to Coraline, but she hoped that the people enjoyed it.

-The cat yawned slowly, carefully, revealing a mouth and tongue of astounding pinkness. "Cats don't have names," it said.
"No?" said Coraline.
"No," said the cat. "Now, you people have names. That's because you don't know who you are. We know who we are, so we don't need names."

I strongly suggest this book to EVERYone!

Samos-ing!

Yesterday we had a small get-together; all close old friends and some new ones gathered in our house as we had't done so for a while. For the occasion, I made some samosas (Italian style!). As you can see here, my brother is demonstrating its taste! Mostly it was about me playing with some photos. I've never done so and I really liked the idea. Asking about Samosas...people had one or two but since we had my dad's special "chicken kebabs" for the main course...well you got the picture!

Cheers :-)

IF : Stitch

Well, let see...yeah "Stitch"! This time I was truly out of ideas. Maybe it's because I've not used my mind that way for a while. This picture however is pretty much what I wish I could do: to cover up this miserable gloomy sky. They say it's nice to have all kinds of weather but still...

I didn't put lot of effort into this one and it's not a strong professional stuff . I'm just warming up!

Cheers :-)
