Change Your Fairytale

Since I couldn't find any decent skin for my phone (mainly because it is not an iPhone or a Samsung) I decided to design one for myself! Being "OBSESSED" with Red Riding Hood story, it was only natural to pick something along that line! Well...it was harder than I imagined it would be, making it fit and everything, but it didn't turn out that bad in the end! :)

The Influence Map

Using Fox Orian's Influence map template, I made mine. Though I couldn't put in ALL the artists that has influenced me so far, it's still good to see some of them together like this!
It was a nice experience on the whole! :)

Drawing Day

So here's my entry for the Drawing Day.

The actual size of the drawing is about 8.5 by 5.5 inches and it's done in watercolor and colored pencil. There's no need to mention that the slightest nudity is involved so be ware!

Have a great Drawing Day! :)

The Rabbician

Inspired by Pixar's Presto and the movie The Prestige, I felt like creating something about Magic. This time I painted the whole thing in watercolor though in the end I had to add more than few digital touches to make it read better.

Have a magical day! :)

IF: Crunchy

"CRUNCHY Mornin'"

I had a slice of toasted bread,
But I'd ran out of marmalade,
"I CAN'T eat this dry and plain!
I think I need some "CRUNCH" today!”
Sweet 'n salty it smells like home,
No it's not the honeycomb!
It's CRUNCHY peanut butter my friend!
And am sure it will never end!

It's been ages since my last post...been busy with assignments. I wrote this poem half sleeping last night!

Cheers :)

Empty

It's been like ages since the last time I updated my blog and this post can't make up for it at all but what to do; I've been really busy recently and barely had time to do anything else. I don't want to admit it but sometimes even drawing and creating ain't fun no more! Anyways...it's just a practice with watercolor and color pencils. Am learning everyday...

Sketch Your Feelings Out

So I decided that whenever am over-busy to upload drawings from my sketchbook. I was sitting inside the Borders bookstore listening to this soft music and I just drew my feelings I think!

Night Again

Oh dear! I've been absent for a while! Am back again...hopefully! So it's just a start! I mean my brain is quiet dusty at the moment and it needs a bit time to get back on the creativity track!

For my brother, Salim. Miss you so much... :-(

Lost

I've had mixed feelings when drawing and painting this piece. I'm learning new techniques in watercolor so I thought of using some of them in this picture. Anyways...I was mainly inspired by two things, Audrey Kawasaki's amazing artworks and Marina Bychkova's beautiful dolls.
Cheers :-)

As Johnny As Possible!

O.K. I know, I know! It's not that much Johnny Depp as it's supposed to be, but I did it anyways! Actually I've done this one for a lovely friend of mine, Sorour, who's a huge fan of JD. Hope she likes it!
It took me more than it should (10 mins sketching, 5 hours digital painting) . I was doing another portrait today as well; Lord Voldemort! Well... it's not done yet but am getting there.

Cheers :-)

Midnight Horror

Here's my very recent work. I was switching between two medias (Photoshop and Painter) so to see if the results would turn out satisfactory. The original sketch was done in my "very dirty notebook" and ironically enough in the middle of the night! I don't know why I suddenly recalled my childhood fears, though apparently my boy character isn't scared at all but more curious. Hope you like it.

Cheers :-)

New Things

Hooray! Am learning new tricks! Well there's not much excitement in that but these days even simple news like this can paint a faded smile on my face. Anyways...here are some stuffs they're teaching us in "Illustrative Digital Imaging" class. People all around the world been doing so for ages but it's never too late to keep up! It's a line drawing, scanned and then colored in Photoshop. I wanted to depict warmth but I don't think I was quiet successful in that area! Still since it's a new media and this is just an experience, am excused!

Cheers :)
